About Audio Equalizer
An audio equalizer adjusts the balance between frequency components within an audio signal. By boosting or cutting specific frequency bands, you can enhance certain qualities of the sound or correct issues in a recording.
Frequency Guide:
- 32-64 Hz: Sub-bass, adds depth and rumble
- 125-250 Hz: Bass, controls fullness and bass instruments
- 500-1000 Hz: Midrange, affects vocal clarity and presence
- 2-4 kHz: Upper mids, impacts intelligibility and definition
- 8-16 kHz: Treble, controls brightness and air
Tips:
- Start with a flat EQ (all bands at 0 dB) before making adjustments
- Try cutting problem frequencies rather than boosting good ones
- Use small changes (2-3 dB) for subtle, natural-sounding results
- Listen with different headphones/speakers to check your adjustments
